Subject/Level: French Level I
Prior Learning: Students are familiar with subject areas, areas of a school, school activities and school objects with definite and indefinite articles, conjugating –er verbs and avoir.
Assessment Objectives: Students will demonstrate the ability to:
1. understand school related information in spoken and written forms 2. properly describe school related objects using definite and indefinite articles 3. write about school related information in a clear, organized manner
L1: Demonstrate command of conventions and grammar when writing and speaking. L2: Demonstrate command of conventions of capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing. L3: Apply knowledge of language functions in order to affect comprehension and expression across contexts. L4: Extract meaning from unknown words and phrases using context clues, word parts, and appropriate references. L5: Demonstrate understanding of figurative expression, word relationships, and nuances in language. R1: Read closely and state meaning of text. Give specific examples from text to support conclusions. R5: Use structure of text, text components, and formatting to assist in understanding the text. R10: Use acquired techniques and strategies to read complex texts independently. W2: Write a sequential, organized text to inform. W4: Present information clearly demonstrating consideration of perspective, purpose, and audience. W10: Write frequently on a variety of topics for a variety of purposes. SL2: Evaluate and use information from diverse media to understand and communicate.
