This is a brilliant activity to promote team building and responsibility.
I complete this activity at the beginning of the year each year and find the students bond quickly and expectations are set early.
In pairs (I draw two students out of a hat) students are given a raw egg.
They are to design what their new 'baby' is to wear and look after it for 48hours by never having one parent more than '2 meters' away from the egg at all times.
Students have to work out who will nurse the egg and break times and become a team very quickly.
After the 48hour challenge students are then asked to design a contraption to drop their egg from a height of meters. They are to use recycled materials and discuss what will make their 'baby' survive the drop.
This is a really fun and interactive experience that all students really enjoy and talk about for years to come.
