My students absolutely love this Easter themed subtraction activity. In my classroom this is math center where students can work with a partner or independently.
Items needed for this activity - Plastic egg display tray, 12 plastic eggs, and EGG-cellent Subtraction recording sheet.
Set-up - Number each egg spot in the tray with a number 1-12. Number each of the plastic eggs with a number 1-12. Inside each egg put two numbers (I wrote the numbers on cute little wooden eggs I found at the dollar store, but you could use anything!).
Activity - Students will lay the eggs on the tray with the corresponding number. Then they will pick an egg, crack it open and record the two numbers on their data sheet next to the egg number. Then students will use the two numbers to create and solve a subtraction number sentence.
My students love this fun, Easter themed Activity! I hope your students do too!
