This commas practice includes EIGHT rules for comma usage, and three practice exercises on a two-sided worksheet.

The eight rules addressed are:

  • To separate two or more adjectives before a noun
  • Before conjunctions for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so when they join two independent clauses
  • To set off nonessential clauses
  • To offset direct quotations or the parts of a divided quotation
  • After introductory phrases and clauses
  • To set apart the parts of dates, addresses, and locations
  • After a salutation in a friendly letter, or closing in all letters

You get:

  • Commas Rules Reference Sheet for 8 common uses of commas with examples
  • Write-on worksheet where students add commas, write their own sentences using the rules presented, and choose the correctly punctuated sentence among three choices
  • Answer Key

I created this for students who are ready for more than four basic rules of comma usage, so please look at the preview to ensure you are getting what you want.

The first four rules (only) are available in another product, listed below.
