Piedra, papel, y tijeras. Students will love this rock, paper, scissors game that utilizes telling time phrases in Spanish. Place students in groups of two. Students will play "piedra, papel, o tijeras" to see who can advance their game piece. If a student wins with "rock" they move forward one space, a win with scissors would be a 2 space move, and a win with paper would mean going forward 3 spaces. The next step translating the time phrase in a particular square. If a student is unable to make a correct translation then he or she would lose one turn. The first student that makes it to the "el fin" box wins.
Time phrases include: Son las tres de la tarde, Son las cuatro y cuarto de la madrugada, Son las ocho y ocho de la noche, etc.
Game instructions are written (and illustrated) on the actual game board.
Use paper clips and eraser tops for game pieces. NO PREP!
