ELA 2nd Grade Common Core Standards/Learning Goals for Students
The student Common Core Standards/Learning Goals is the standards typed so that they display the standard. The strand and cluster are also in the bottom right hand side. Each standard is distinguished by the same color scheme.
The student standards do not include any parentheses. For example if the standard was ” Describe how words and phrases (e.g., regular beats, alliteration, rhymes, repeated lines) supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song.”
It is written as “Describe how words and phrases supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song.”
These standards are also written with the student learning goal in mind. Each standard begins with “The student will be able to…” The standard is condensed so that it is in student friendly terms. Although some standards are not very different as this took away from the meaning of the standard.
