ELA 4-8: The People We're Thankful For, Thanksgiving Writing Activity
This packet contains everything you need for a fun Thanksgiving writing/art activity about people that matter to your students.
Here’s what’s inside:
“The People We’re Thankful For” – this banner is to print and use as part of your classroom display when the activity is complete.
“I’m Thankful for…” – This writing template invites students to write about a person they are thankful for inside a drawing of a person.
“I’m Thankful for…” EXAMPLE – You might wish to photocopy this for students to see, so they understand the activity better. Or you could just print one and show it to them as an example.
“I’m Thankful for…” – This art template invites students to draw the person they are thankful for. This is an optional extension of the writing activity. You could have everyone do it, have fast finishers do it, or just skip it.
When the students have finished the writing and, if you wish, art activity, you can put the work up on the wall around the provided banner. If you wish, have students cut out the people before putting them up. If you had students do the art activity, put the drawings of the people next to the writing projects.
