Overview:

Start the year with ‘Ready, Set, TNReady Bell Ringer Races’ for ELA in the middle grades (6-8). Featuring an engaging and motivating theme with independent student tracking built in, this bundle provides bell ringers for you to use the entire year to set your students up for success on this new test.

Designed as a race with "passage pit stops" and "race logbooks," students track their progress throughout the year in their very own logbook where they also record answers and explain their rationale.

These questions are painstakingly aligned to the TNReady test; this includes passages, question stems, question types, and aesthetic appearance.

How Does it Work:

Introduce the bell ringers to your students using the student friendly directions in the PPT. Give students the “TNReady, Set, Race Logbook” included in the bundle. Use the slide ‘Explaining an Answer’ to model how to prove an answer choice using evidence.

Daily, weekly, or monthly: choose questions based on the standards or question types you are covering in class. Use the teacher guide slides at the beginning of the PPT to locate this info. Conversely, choose questions you want to remediate or reteach based on mastery.

Give students time to read/annotate the passage and answer the question located in their Student Log Book.

Use the explanations provided on every slide to review the distractors and why the correct answer is right.
