Complete and incomplete sentences can be difficult for students to master. However, the more they practice and become familiar with subjects and predicates, the closer they reach mastery!
Please look through the preview to see if this is something your students can use before purchasing. Prior to introducing this sort, students should have background knowledge on subjects and predicates.
What this product includes:
*3 different centers
Center #1: Complete & Incomplete Sentence Sort
Students sort cards into complete or incomplete sentences. Then, they choose the complete sentence, transfer this over to their work mat and underline the subject and box in the predicate.
Center #2: Sentence Match
Students cut subjects and predicates. They mix and match these to create a complete sentence that is pasted on to a work mat.
Center #3: Create Your Own Sentence!
Students write their own complete sentences. Then they trade papers and have a friend underline the subject and box in the predicate.
Center 1 and 2 include answer keys the teacher or students can use.
*Center How To
Each center includes a how to and materials needed for students to refer to. It is highly encouraged to model how to use each center and review expectations before students work on these.
Teacher pre work:
1. Just Center #1. Print cards on card stock (laminate if you're able to) and place each set in a baggie.
2. Make enough class copies of the work mats for each center.
I hope you find these centers as useful as I have! For other quick centers, check out...
