This lesson follows the suggested lesson plan sequence found on engageny.org. This has been scaled back to be more teacher-friendly for the instruction of students. Included in this lesson plan are the back to back/face to face protocol to begin the lesson, lesson targets, the triad group activities that explore figurative language, point of view and tone. Students will need to use the Dragonwings text (pp. 15-16) for this lesson. This lesson also continues to help students explore how authors use characters' actions, thoughts, and words to develop this point of view.
