Product Description

Do your students enjoy writing creatively, but you struggle to allow them to write to prompts of their choice in a way that is organized, rigorous, and standards-based?

My husband and I developed this product for both his 8th grade students and again for my 2nd grade students, and it was a hit in both rooms! It allows students to write a movie script featuring characters they design and a plot of their choice, but it makes sure that they incorporate dozens of standards in the process!

Your students will love designing their own movie, and they won't even notice how many standards they are working on at once! This project was designed and has been texted in a 2nd grade classroom. But, the standards-alignment is fluid and could work well in a 3rd or 4th grade classroom.  The standards your students work on depends on the direction you take their project. The project requires that your students work in evidence of two literary elements into their writing. You could allow them to choose, or decide based on what you need to work on in class!

The choices include:

⭐Problem/Solution

⭐Main Idea/Key Details

⭐Character Responding to an Event

⭐Theme

⭐Point of View

⭐Author's Purpose

⭐Cause/Effect

⭐Beginning, Middle, End

⭐Compare/Contrast

⭐Interesting Vocabulary

This project includes 14 pages: 2 for teachers, 12 for students.

When you purchase this product, you will receive:

✅Graphic organizers for mapping out main & supporting characters and their character traits

✅Setting planning page

✅Planning page for the problem and the character's attempts to solve

✅Example script

✅Writing pages
