PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Dear Teachers,

Poetry is an excellent genre to teach students reading comprehension skills. In this lesson, students will learn how to apply the reading skill personification in a poem entitled The Happy Weeping Willow Tree. Because this is a cooperative learning lesson, it is in Power Point style

I constructed 12 questions that require students to apply personification and other skills such as critical thinking.

I have included a lesson plan, answer key, and poetic summary for your convenience.

With You In Mind,

Renee Coates-Smith, M.Ed.
