If you're anything like me, you love it when things are nicely organized and in their place. You probably also have that dreaded 'paper pile', or in my case a paper mountain when everything gets piled because you just don't know where else to put it!
I came up with a system to help me better organize my papers! I use my file cabinet and file folders.
This product has a label and matching standard card for every single First Grade ELA standard.
In my file cabinet I give each standard its own file folder. On the tab I place the standard reference number label and on the outside front cover I place the standard card. Now I have someone where to put EVERYTHING related to that standard! I put things like centers, worksheets, lesson plans, etc. into these folders. If I stumble upon a great idea for a standard I will also write it down quick and toss it in the folder. Then, when it comes time to teach that standard all I have to do is pull out the folder and use it help me plan! I also put extra copies of my worksheets, etc in these folders so I can reuse them next year!
So far, this has helped me start to tame my paper mountain!
I also use these labels for my centers. I put all center pieces into a ziplock bag and place the label on the front of the bag so I know right away what each center is for.
I hope this product can help you get your classroom organized and get that paper pile under control!
