“ELA Task Cards - “Quotation Marks and Capitalization” was developed for review and remediation of specific key skills. It provides structured practice using quotation marks and capital letters in proper names, holidays, days of the week, months of the year, cities, states, countries, addresses, brand names, etc. This resource addresses the following Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.L.1-5.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.2.A Capitalize holidays, product names, and geographic names.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Copy sets of cards on cardstock and cut along the lines. Arrange according to student needs: by individual skill, by level (card numbers), etc. Use for small group instruction, an independent center, a classroom carousel, or whatever meets the needs of your students!
