Thematic Unit Plan: Technology vs. Real Life
This MONTH LONG thematic unit incorporates LITERARY texts, INFORMATIONAL texts, and POETRY texts in order to have students think critically, creatively, and argumentatively about this topic. The unit's CULMINATING PROJECT is the students' creation of a futuristic school which is based on the pros and cons of technology discovered through discussion of the texts.
Included in this bundle are the following:
*overall unit plan including the concept map and daily implementation schedule
*handouts for analyzing and comparing informational texts
*a notes format for comparing the two literary texts
*questions for analyzing various poems discussed in the unit
*directions for a culminating activity along with a rubric for easy grading
