This is a response notebook type packet containing questions and activities to accompany Abe Lincoln at Last!, book 47, in the Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne. The notebook / packet can be used to teach throughout the Abe Lincoln at Last! book study. I personally use mine with my social studies classes.
Pages included are as follows:
-Similar cover sheet with a name space suitable for a student notebook / packet cover should the purchaser so choose
-Question Sheets covering each chapter, 12 chapters total
(3 questions per chapter; 2 chapters per sheet)
-Abraham Lincoln Extension Research Sheet
-Compare and Contrast Jack and Annie (reading skill sheet)
-Retell the story using transition words. (reading skill sheet)
-Four DIFFERENT photo scrapbook sheets for students to be creative and retell the story in pictures. (I included one each of four different designs so the purchaser can print as few or as many of each as desired.)
-Television Interview Sheet where students can use their imaginations and creativity to pretend they are television reporters interviewing President Lincoln and Jack and Annie.
-Story Elements Sheet for students to record the characters, setting, problem, key events, solution, and theme of the story
-Finger Feedback! Here students can rate the book and explain their thoughts about it by rating it anywhere from 1 – 5 fingers and then explaining the reasoning behind their choice.
--for each of the chapter questions (chapters 1-12)
--for the Abraham Lincoln Extension Sheet
*The answer keys are included as guides, but of course class discussions could provide additional answers. :o)
I have tagged this as compatible with certain ELA Common Core State Standards for 2nd and 3rd grades, but readers of other elementary grades would enjoy this book also. :o)
I included the extension sheet (Abraham Lincoln) as extra research and information seeking opportunities for students. My students love any reason to find things in library books and on the computer! :o)
I hope you enjoy the packet and it will be helpful to you and your students!
Good for one classroom use only. Please respect my work and do not distribute unless additional licenses are purchased. :o)
