A complete unit integrating ELA, art, and culture based on Roseanne Thong's Red is a Dragon: A Book of Colors. All you need is this packet, some strips of construction paper, a little glue, and a copy of this wonderful book!
It's aligned to several Common Core standards (and I am sure you can think of more than what I wrote) and WIDA English Language Development standards, as it teaches ELA and social studies language.
It also teaches students about rainbow order and reinforces color vocabulary.
