I have written for PARCC. But, my class tests in SBAC. There are five extremely compact review lessons (very dense in format.) This is spiral review of both ELA and math.
Each lesson contain over a dozen questions that are modeled after the SBAC and PARCC practice questions.
These are mini-lessons-- daily practice using the format on the practice portal. Each ELA passage is original Questions match the format of the SBAC and PARCC. There are 5-6 ELA questions and 8-10 math questions.
I have also included a Powerpoint presentation with the first 10 math questions from the SBAC. And, there is a worksheet to go with it. Without computers (even with computers), I have found difficulty in walking students through individual math problems. The graphic organizer I included matches the slide show presentation and it includes information students need to circle, fill in, or data they need to look at before working the problem.
Each page ends with an open ended question that taps critical and creative thinking-- and they're fun. I added this for my GATE students, my high-achievers, and my early finishers (almost sounds redundant, huh?)
I have three more weeks worth of practice pages like this that I will be uploading soon.
I can change the dense format and separate out the ELA and math portion if this is a desired change. Please give me feedback. I have included my email at the bottom of the lesson.
Also, after I did this lesson series with my students, I gave them a quiz on the first 10 SBAC questions on Edcite. Look for it on Edcite or email me for a link.
