Are your kindergarten English language learners going to take the ELPAC? This resource is to help them prepare for the reading portion of the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California. They can get used to the format of the assessment, as well as practice the skills they need to be successful on the assessment.
There are three parts of the reading ELPAC:
#1 Students answer concept of a word questions and sound out a word. Then they match the word to a picture.
#2 The test proctor reads a fictional passage to the student. The student then answers 4 questions about the passage (1 foundational skills question and 3 comprehension questions).
#3 The test proctor reads an informational passage to the student. The student then answers 3 questions comprehension questions about the passage.
There are 10 words and pictures to practice the first portion of the assessment. Each portion comes with a teacher script.
There are 5 fictional stories with picture scenes with 4 questions to go along with each story. These come with teacher scripts.
There are also 5 informational stories with picture scenes with 3 questions to go along with each story. These come with teacher scripts as well.
