Description

Are you and/or your students HASHTAG # AND EMOJI obsessed? What better way to “talk books” than to get students thinking about the perfect hashtag to compliment all the elements of their books along their reading journey? This interactive bulletin board is a great way to strengthen your reading community!

This product contains over 30 book category headers (in BOTH black AND white lettering)-perfect for your bulletin board as a way to build strong readers who “talk books” with others and synthesize story elements.

Examples of headers found in this product
• #GrabATissue
• #TeleportMeToThatSetting
• #FavoriteFriendship
• #GoodForTheSoul

A short insight into how this COULD work in your classroom
• Use as little or as many headers as you would like for a certain amount of time.
• Host discussions about what books that fit under that category might read like.
• Have students take a picture of a book they strongly feel should fit under that category, and have them post it to the bulletin board.
• After you feel like the headers have been up for a good amount of time, take down the pictures and host discussions about popular reads and where they were placed!
• Switch the old category headers out for a new batch and start over with new books!

Benefits to this interactive bulletin board:
• Lends itself to accountable talk as students agree, disagree, or want to add on to others’ thinking.
• Students can look and gain interest in what other readers are reading.
• Students often “buy in” to what other readers are reading and value their opinions.

Also in this pack :
• Notes that dig deeper into each category
• Examples of well-known books that can fit into each category
