Product Description
✐ This product is a NO PREP- SELF CHECKING activity that engage students in "Simplifying Square Root and nth Root with variables".

There are Two Versions in this activity:
☑ Version 1: Use the Absolute Value with Variables (Even-Even-Odd)
☑ Version 2: No Absolute Value

The questions will have difference indices:
☑ 5 Questions on Square Root
☑ 5 Questions on Cube Root
☑ 1 Question with 4th Root
☑ 1 Question with 5th Root

Students need to feel comfortable with:
☑ Identify the Prime Factors of any base (numerical)
☑ Even-Even-Odd rule for absolute value version
☑ The rule of the index of the radical in simplifying

I use Algebra II Common Core Pearson Textbook. This activity works very well with Section 6.1: Roots & Radical Expressions

Students would need to solve the mystery Emoji by following the color key.

My students are fascinated with an additional coloring option that I have included where they could pick their own colors. They have become very very creative. I am including this option in this emoji and I truly hope that your kids will love it as much as mine have.

The purpose behind this activity is just to introduce the properties. If you would like to modify it in any way, please don't hesitate to contact me via Q and A. I will update and include a second version in this product JUST FOR YOU ☻

✶ ✶ ✶ My students truly were ENGAGED answering the questions and had a BLAST COLORING and finding the mystery picture much better than the textbook problems.✶ ✶ ✶

This RELAXING EMOJI could be used in: math centers, group work, a way to check for understanding, a review, recap of the lesson, pair-share, cooperative learning, exit ticket, entrance ticket, homework, individual practice, when you have time left at the end of a period, beginning of the period (as a warm up or bell work), before a quiz on the topic, substitute planning, and more.
