--> Get-to-know-you activity
--> Classroom Scavenger Hunt (Numbers review)
--> School Tour
--> First day Crowns
We hope this set of fun activities will help you kickstart your first day or week back to school ! You may wish to create a booklet for students by assembling the pages together or use them separate, as best fit for your classroom.
All About Me:
This is a get-to-know-you activity where students create a self-portrait and mini-
poster about themselves. This also makes a great display for bulletin boards! Canadian and American spelling versions included.
Classroom Scavenger Hunt:
This one is a classic, with a math twist. In this version, students review and practice
using tallies, pictures, words and ten frames by going on a hunt to find the number
of different classroom objects in their.
Help students become familiar with their school with a tour around the school. This
activity gives students an opportunity to record and draw some of the important
places they see during their school tour.
Celebrate the first day or week of school with a “Je suis en ____ année!” crown.
Print on cardstock for durability and then glue onto long strip of construction paper to
create a crown. Two versions of the crowns are available (one with designs to
colour, and blank template for student designs).
