Character Education is the foundation of creating a positive behavior learning environment and developing social emotional skills. This resource focuses on the positive behavior of ENTHUSIASM. It includes ENTHUSIASM lesson plans for five daily lessons. It encourages the students to set personal goals, reflect on their own behavior and discuss it with their peers. This social emotional learning activity will support a positive behavior management plan in your classroom community. Your classroom management will be more manageable if you build a culture of respect, tolerance, kindness, gratitude and positive behaviors. This social emotional learning activity will help develop the social skills of your students and promote collaboration and positive communication within your class.

These lessons will encourage self-reflection and an opportunity for your students to learn about these critical personal character traits in themselves and their classmates.

Strong social and emotional skills are critical in navigating relationships, working collaboratively, and maximizing learning opportunities in your classroom.  The poster included in this lesson will provide a constant  visual reminder of the positive behaviors for your students.  They also provide an example of the behavior in active voice. They are a wonderful year-round visual reminder of positive behaviors and will empower your students to constantly reflect on their personal social and emotional skills.

If you purchase the entire 25 weeks of Daily Character Education Bundle, you will have 25 traits to explore with your students.  It is suggested you complete this over 25 weeks but is suitable for an intensive 5 week character education program.  Choose the format and sequence that best suits your timetable and students needs. You can print out each worksheet as required or create a stapled journal for students to keep together as a reflection and resource tool. This can be a very helpful reference tool when you are managing difficult behaviors or integrated into a positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) program: students can return to their journal to remind themselves of positive behaviors; and reset their goals.
