This massive comprehensive review covers topics from the Mayflower Compact to 9/11. All questions relate to key topics in U.S. History. Students must either know the topic and fill it in, or research it on the internet (Google it!). Students may also use textbooks, notes, and other materials to find the answers. Questions range from multiple choice, analytical, fill-in-the-blank, i.e. Primary sources are abundant in the packet. Political cartoons, propaganda posters, paintings, maps, i.e. The Depth of Knowledge ranges from a 1 to 3---very expansive. These questions can also be incorporated into lessons throughout the year (you can pick and choose what you want to use, when you want to use them). Many of the questions have multiple parts that interrelate and support the main topic (in context, there are more than 65 questions, due to multiple-branch questions). I generally use this packet at the end of the year for a comprehensive review, then discuss it. The packet comes with a "detailed" answer key (even for analytical/discussion style questions). This packet is 26 pages long (including the answers). I have received many compliments on this comprehensive review. Students are forced to review key concepts (students have to write out many of the answers, including for example: Supreme Court Rulings). Know it or Google It! is listed as a one week activity, but it could easily be 2 weeks depending on how it is used. Look for Know it or Google It! Parts 2 and 3 Coming soon!
