EOC/Exam Review Task Cards - Sub Plans → Editable files!
Working on EOC or exam prep with your students? This set of task cards provides a fun and interactive review opportunity for your students. Students will use their cell phones or tablets to scan QR codes linking them to videos, webpages, and interactive activities. They will respond to specific tasks and record their answers on an answer sheet.
To use this activity successfully, you will need to be sure that each student—or pair of students—has a mobile device. Students will also need a QR code reader app installed on their mobile device. Finally, students will need headphones or earbuds. Make one set of task cards for each group of 3-4 students, and be sure to cut the task cards out. Copy an answer sheet for each student.
This is a great activity for all high school English students because it allows students to work at their own pace. You might use this activity for remediation, for test prep, for enrichment, or for when you are out and need a sub plan. In fact, this is a FANTASTIC sub plan because it is meaningful and it keeps students working and happy the entire class period! I've included a link to a review game so that you can quiz the students in a fun way after they complete the task cards.
The concepts reviewed in this set of task cards include the following:
• Cultural conflict
• Context clues
• ACE strong-answer format
• Internal/external conflict
• Active/passive voice
• Objective summary
• Rhetorical question
• Parallel structure
• Author’s purpose
• Sentence types
• Sentence variety
• Quotation marks
I hope you and your students enjoy this highly interactive activity! My students loved it!
