For over 3,000 years, Ancient Egypt thrived under the control of a single ruler called a pharaoh. Egyptians believed in the divine right of kings, the idea that it was the will of the gods that each pharaoh came to rule. Similar to Chinese dynasties, each Egyptian pharaoh was from a dynasty or “royal family”. Often these dynasties ended or were overthrown by the next dynasty. Although there are over 170 pharaohs from 33 different dynasties, this series of slides will highlight ten well-known figures.
The ten figures include:
* Nectanebo II
* Cleopatra VII
