Description

End of year escape rooms will make for a fun and educational learning adventure!

This immersive breakout activity has your kids on a field trip run by YOU- the most awesome and creative teacher in the history of the world. While following a mysterious girl in a red cape, the kids walk a bit too far into the woods and get lost. Now they must work with their group to solve a series of FUN challenges based on comprehension and incorporating a variety of skills!

Using critical thinking skills, problem-solving, reading comprehension, text structure, plot, and idioms (we even threw in a simple math problem for those who love numbers), kids will complete a series of challenges. Each challenge brings them closer to the code they need to unlock the forest's wifi and call for help.

ELA ESCAPE ROOM GROWING BUNDLE: A YEAR OF ESCAPES

* This resource was updated on 4/30/18. It now includes crystal clear setup instructions, as well as an optional video introduction that your students will love!

================================

Everything is organized and ready to go!

♦ At-a-glance instructions for easy setup.

♦ FIVE possible solutions, so if you have more than one class, you'll have no problem with kids telling others the answer.

♦ Instructional reference bookmarks on text structure and idioms, that students can use LONG after they have escaped the forest!

♦ An optional video introduction.

♦ Five challenging and creative tasks.

♦ At-a-glance answers.

♦ Reflective exit slips.

♦ Awards to celebrate a successful escape.

All that is needed is a color printer (optional but adds a nice touch), a few envelopes or folders, and a few paper fasteners. Unlike other breakout activities, you don't have to go out and buy expensive locks and boxes, because we've included everything you need to print and go!

================================

The fractured fairytale storyline is interactive and immersive. YOUR students are directly involved in the story. This is perfect to use for an observation, to set up for a substitute, to use as an end of the year activity, to use as review, or to use on any day that you want to relax and watch your students have a blast AND learn together with a team!

Completing the entire escape can take anywhere from 45-60 minutes, depending on how quickly the class is able to complete the activities. Students will not have to leave the room. This is NOT a scavenger hunt.

Have fun and be sure to come back for more ESCAPE ROOM challenges!
