Your kids are on a field trip run by YOU- the most awesome and creative teacher in the history of the world- when they walk a bit too far into the woods and get lost. Now they must work with their group to solve a series of FUN challenges based on comprehension and steeped with a variety of skills!
Using critical thinking skills, problem-solving, reading comprehension, text structure, plot, and idioms (we even threw in a simple math problem for those who love numbers), kids will complete a series of challenges. Each challenge brings them closer to the code they need to unlock the forest's wifi and call for help.
Everything is organized and ready to go!
♦ At-a-glance instructions for easy setup.
♦ FIVE possible solutions, so if you have more than one class, you'll have no problem with kids telling others the answer.
♦ Instructional reference bookmarks on text structure and idioms, that students can use LONG after they have escaped the forest!
♦ At-a-glance answers.
♦ Reflective exit slips.
♦ Awards to celebrate a successful escape.
All that is needed is a color printer (optional but adds a nice touch), a few envelopes or folders, and a few paper fasteners. Unlike other breakout activities, you don't have to go out and buy expensive locks and boxes, because we've included everything you need to print and go!
The fractured fairytale storyline is interactive and immersive. YOUR students are directly involved in the story. This is perfect to use for an observation, to set up for a substitute, to use as an end of the year activity, to use as review, or to use on any day that you want to relax and watch your students have a blast AND learn together with a team!
Completing the entire escape can take anywhere from 40-60 minutes, depending on how quickly the class is able to complete the activities. Students will not have to leave the room. This is NOT a scavenger hunt.
Have fun and be sure to come back for more ESCAPE ROOM challenges!
