Description
We want our students thriving, not just surviving! This unit teaches ESL newcomers new vocabulary alongside new grammar concepts in a fun and exciting way. It's for middle and high school students and can be used on-site, online, or anything in between. The digital resources can be shared on Google Classroom. This is Unit 2 in my newcomer curriculum.
This Cafeteria & Restroom Unit takes approximately 3 weeks. I teach it in eight 80 minute block periods, but the curriculum is very flexible and can fit into whatever you need.

This unit includes some basic restroom and cafeteria words as well as a few important phrases. Then, it reviews singular/plural nouns and subject verb agreement and introduces numbers and writing both positive and negative sentences with be-verbs. The summative test includes vocabulary and grammar. In my following units, we continue to review and practice all grammar introduced in this unit as well as add new grammar.
