This is a great vocabulary game to play with all grades when you have a couple of extra minutes and want to keep your students engage until the end of class. This powerpoint includes 148 words! It includes a built-in 60 second timer on each slide. There is even a randomizer built-in so the class doesn't know which word they'll get next!

Directions for the game: It can be played in teams or whole group. The student designated as “guesser” should sit with his/her back to the screen. The “hinters” are the rest of the students who can see the screen. The hinters have 60 seconds to get the guesser to say the answer at the top of the screen. However, the hinters cannot use any of the five “forbidden words” to help the guesser. They can also not use any part of the answer. For example, if the answer is “snowflake”, the hinters cannot say “snow” or “flake” as a clue. No acting out the words. If at any time the hinters do not want the given word, the teacher can just advance to the next slide using a forward arrow. The timer starts when the teacher clicks the circle that says “60.” One point is given for each correct answer before time runs out. The team with the most points win.
