ESL Embedded Reading and CLOZE Lyrics for "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars

This is an original 3-part Embedded Reading and CLOZE lyric activity for basic ESL students. The Embedded Reading is aimed at helping beginners understand the song "Just The Way You Are" by the popular American singer Bruno Mars. I teach ESL using Comprehensible Input, so I focus on going slow and ensuring understanding of the meaning! Each of the 3 readings gets a little harder and longer, but all are aimed at the basic ESL learner. After doing the 3 readings, you can watch the music video online with your students. Then, your students can do a CLOZE lyric sheet for the song by Bruno Mars. Watch the music video and have the students fill in the words that are missing from the lyrics. They can sing and celebrate a new American song they have acquired!
This material could be used with all ages. The music video and lyrics are appropriate for all.
