Use this to teach beginner ESL students about foods in English ... or use to teach about nutrition and healthy food to younger students.
This handout includes four pages of food pictures with their English names (proteins, vegetables, fruits, and other groceries). Foods included are intended to reflect some of the dishes of immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean, so there are certain foods (goat, octopus) that may not be as common among American eaters.
Also included are the same pictures, without the vocabulary words; use these to make flashcards, cut up for "shopping" activities, or have students write in the names as a pre-test or post-study vocabulary quiz.
All pictures are black-and-white line drawings for easy printing and photocopying. The handout is MS Word format for easy editing if there are other foods you would like to add for your students.
