Just pass out the cards and say "Go!" This is a perfect activity for reinforcing vocabulary, and requires students to listen and respond. This PDF file includes 6 pages from "Names - I Am, Who Is" Activity Set.
“I Am, Who Is” activities are great for large or small groups and are very easy to play. Simply deal the cards out to however many children are playing and have them arrange them face up on the table in front of them. The children must be able to see all of their cards.
These cards have designated “Begin” and “End” cards. The player with the “Begin” card reads her card first. Whoever has the next card reads that one and so forth. After reading a card aloud, the card is finished and turned over.
This set of “Names - I Am, Who Is” cards has three versions. The first set has picture prompts for all the vocabulary. The second version has picture prompts only for the “I am..” half of the cards. The third version has only text and no picture prompts. In this way, you can slowly wean your students away from relying on the pictures to understand and read the words.
