ESL PERSONALITY Pronunciation Practice

ESL PERSONALITY Pronunciation Practice
Product Description
This activity is for ESL students, from middle school to adult. It is a variation of the old Battleship game. It is a pair, information-gap activity. The coordinates for a Battleship game are A, B, C, and 1, 2, 3. These are too easy to distinguish and pronounce.

These COORDINATE WORDS (usually about 20) feature the most difficult sounds for ESL students to distinguish and pronounce, such as: light-right-night-white; beat-bat-bet-bit; gin-chin-zen-shin; pool-pull.

The ANSWER WORDS (usually about 22) are vocabulary from the ESL topic, for example, PERSONALITY: cheap, generous, joiner, messy, outgoing and shy.

The similar sounding coordinate words create confusion. Clearing up that confusion improves both listening and pronouncing. It’s also fun, challenging, related to an ESL topic, and contains topic vocabulary.
