This resource is great for English language learner grades 1-5. This product is for teaching spring clothing vocabulary to ESL students, and also lends itself to working on sequence writing (first, next, then, last). Includes THREE LEVELS of writing prompts!

How to use this resource

  • Help students become familiar with spring clothing on the first page of this resource. The clothing includes T-shirt, raincoat, shorts, long sleeve shirt, umbrella, jeans, rain boots, tennis shoes.
  • Next students will plan visually what their person will wear on a spring day using the numbered boxes marked first, next, then and last. Students will draw four or more items that they want their person to wear outside.
  • There are three options for different levels in the writing component. One with full sentence frames, one just with the words, first, next, then and last and finally just blank lines for more advanced students. Directions on the writing pages also are varied for higher and lower ability. 
  • Finally students may illustrate the spring clothes on their person, students can also choose the spring weather (rainy, cloudy, or sunny).
