This lesson aims to put the student in control of their learning and demonstrates both new and traditional methods to gather information.
The solar system is an often taught subject across year levels and I have tried to take a different and more interactive approach for a learning station based lesson. Students access the information and can either be guided on the answers they are looking for or encouraged to find out things that interest them.
This could also be used for activity days or open days.
Covers a wide range of abilities
Tires to address different students learning styles
Utilizes some alternative ways of teaching – using VR and AR for example.
Presents similar information but in multiple formats
Allows students to be in control and follow their interests
Flexible time scales and depth depending on the needs of the subject.
Uses ED Tech resources that are free or low cost
Some of the resources I cannot include but all are free or very low cost and I have signposted them where needed. These include the videos and the VR/AR apps. As this is developing technology I am more than happy to receive suggestions on others that you may have found in your teaching.
Hope you find it useful and as always I am completely open to opinions and suggestions.
