Are you looking for ESL writing activities for spring that support all language domains? These engaging narrative story writing activities around the theme of "Lost" help you teach the key language use narrate with low prep to your first and second graders. The fun picture support helps your English learners plan and write with increasing independence. These ESL writing activities include spring scenarios such as a day at the park and losing a sweater, but could be used most any time of year.

What's included?

*Three pages of lesson ideas to support you!

*A printable short story to use as a mentor text about a lost dog

*Picture cards for retelling

*Writing paper for retelling the story

*An anchor chart, planning sheets with question prompts, and writing paper for students to create their own narrative about a lost item

*Additional writing activity about a missing sweater with a picture and labels for an anchor chart, student recording sheet, and writing paper

Love, love, love!! My students really enjoyed this activity and felt like successful writers when they were finished. Breaking it down picture by picture made the activity manageable while still maintaining a high level of rigor. My multilingual students did great with this activity!
