Anyone familiar with Debbie Diller (Literacy Work Stations and Math Work Stations) will understand how work stations are her replacement for cutesie centers that are typically found in PreK-K classrooms. Children select any of the of 3-4 activities from the I CAN list during their "center" time, and due to the variety of the activities, they can last for weeks.
This is a sample of my I CAN stations sheets, and I have visual examples/cues on there so that my ESL kindergarten students can understand what they are expected to do and creates more independence. I usually put these sheets in a plastic sign holder which sits on top of the table. They absolutely love these activities, and I make sure that they are differentiated for a high level of engagement.
One thing to note, some of the activities here can be found right here on TpT website, so hopefully this resource is a great way to find some other items that can be used in your classroom!!
