This set contains a game board and 25 mini sheets to support the concepts in the game.
The game is designed to encourage English language learners to practise their oral language skills. I made this for two of my own students who. despite progressing well, were very reluctant to speak. This was a great way to get them talking and interacting with classmates. It also became a great way for all my students to get to know each other and some interesting stories emerged from discussions of their favourite things.
All that is needed to play is:
1 x printed game sheet (A3 size and laminated for reuse)
1 x dice
1 x counter for each player
Students must name three of their favourite things for each topic square they land on, such as their three favourite toys. Depending on their language abilities, you can also have them explain why those are their favourites.
The mini sheets are used if support is needed for the student. They are most effective if there is a discussion with the student about the topic and support is provided to label their drawings if needed. This can help with confidence in speaking the words when playing the game.
I hope this product is useful in your classroom. Please leave feedback and check out the other items in my store.
