This packet contains a full lesson for beginning to intermediate level ELLs that will take about 4 days. The activities follow a gradual release model. They begin with the teacher modeling types of moods with a sheet of examples and emojis. The lesson moves to teacher and students doing fill-in-the-blanks and having students do them on their own, followed by the students generating ideas about emotions and actions. After students get a good grasp of the different emotion types and past, present, and future forms of "be", students then read a passage about going to a Romeo Santos concert and answer text-dependent questions that follow the Fisher and Frey model. The lesson ends with a cloze writing assignment, self and peer assessment, and tic tac toe for speaking and listening practice. Includes teaching tips!
