This product contains several powerpoints, an in-depth cuneiform assignment, and a unit test. Individual lesson plans are sometimes included with lessons. Each lesson was designed for one 1.5 hour class period. Some powerpoints are a lot shorter as those days had in-class assignments and activities to supplement them.

What is contained in this folder is notated below.

Lesson 1 includes:
-Powerpoint on Ancient Mesopotamia (19 slides)
-Powerpoint on the first humans (4 slides)
-Short lesson plan that may or may not be adaptable
-Guided notes for the powerpoints for kids to take notes on.

Lesson 2 includes:
-Powerpoint on the The Babylonian Empire (10 slides)
-Laws from the Code of Hammurabi sorted into three categories: reasonable laws, laws about women, unreasonable laws. (1 microsoft word page)
-Cuneiform assignment (This includes an in-depth explanation of how the assignment works and how to implement it, a grading rubric for the assignment, 3 different cuneiform messages for students to decode, several words and letters in the cuneiform alphabet so that you can create your own messages, a key for the cuneiform alphabet).

Lesson 3 includes:
-Powerpoint on Judaism (9 slides)

Lesson 4 includes:
-Powerpoint on Phoenicians and Lydians (6 slides)

There is also a Unit Test for this unit included. (4 Microsoft word pages)

Note about powerpoints:

Yellow text is what I have my students take notes on and/or major takeaways from the slide.

Images have been removed to avoid copyright infringement so each slide is blank apart from text.
