Students will use primary sources to evaluate the way Native Americans were treated by different European groups (Spain, France, and England). You are provided with 6 pieces of primary source evidence for EACH European country (for a total of 18)! These examples include quotes and images.
Students will then use their evaluative descriptions to create alliteration sayings for each European country's treatment of Native Americans.
Included in this product is a student handout, directions and examples, Primary Source Description Cards (18), and an Extension Writing.
The lesson is formatted to allow the teacher's discretion of presenting the information in a Round Robin, Cooperative Learning Groups, or Whole Class based upon the class / student needs. Directions are provided for each.
Learning Objective: The learners will evaluate the treatment of Native Americans by European explorers (Spanish, French, and English) by using primary source evidence to list descriptive terms of the different relationships in order to create alliteration sayings.
Language Objective: The learners will describe the relationship of the Spanish, French, and English with the Native Americans by writing alliteration sayings.
