I discovered how much more engaged students were when I presented materials in power point format. The students are attentive while having to fill in the blanks with info from the power point AND I realized they were retaining the information! I kept the study guide pages black, white, and printer friendly. There are SO MANY explorers; however, I included those emphasized in TN/Common Core Standards and on our yearly tests.
** This resource can be used before – as a preview, during – as a recap, and after – for reviewing for a test. I also like that when a student is absent … I load the power point and they can still take notes (in the classroom or at home).
** I use interactive notebooks in my classroom, so I have included a note taking set that can be trimmed and pasted into student notebooks.
The graphic organizers can be printed or students can create their own in their notebooks.
** There is a template for an Anchor Chart (picture of mine included) as well. I create this with my students each year as we discuss exploration and they create one in their notebooks.
** At the end of the power point I added additional frames to add your own notes/pictures/ etc. to fit your needs!
