This is an early finish activity that I use with my kiddos after they have learned something new, typically using informational text. However, this can be done with any new content learned regardless of format instructed.
Students must try to think of several new things they have learned and put them in ABC format. See the example on my handout. This requires higher-level thinking skills, because students must start their word or phrase with specific letters.
This also allows you to differentiate for your kids! Your lower-level learners may need to only create 5 letters with information they have learned, while your higher-level learners would be challenged to use at least 20 letters.
