Use these task sorts to create a center kit for early finishers. Here are 15+ FUN foundational skills lessons in language arts, designed to fit and support activity center based tasks, 2 page activity, enhancing reading fluency. Students will read thirty list words per lesson, circling word parts and applying grade level phonics and word analysis skills to read. Then on a second master create word lists sorts through a graphic organizer. Have students use combined knowledge of all letter sound correspondences, syllabication patterns, and morphology (roots and affixes) to read list words as a group, individually, or to a partner. After students have read list words, circled word chunks, students can spend the remaining lesson time recording their own top 10 favorite lists for seasonal favorites.
