Tricky Leprechaun Math Mystery Packet  
This March themed packet contains eight different math and logic activities that challenge early finishers during the Spring

Find The Lucky Coin 
A leprechaun hid his lucky gold piece behind one of these numbered hats. Follow the clues to find his lucky coin. As you work, cross out any numbers that don’t fit the clue.

Lost Leprechaun
A leprechaun is making its way home. Can you help it fly to the correct squares? Students use column and row values to build path to the house. The columns have an assigned value, and the rows have a total. Students will add the columns to equal the assigned value of the row. They will glue a leprechaun onto the correct boxes. Reinforces addition.

Clover Chromatics
Students are introduced to chromatic graphing using the clover at the vertices. A chromatic number is the smallest number of colors needed to color the vertices of a shape so that no two adjacent vertices share a color. Reinforces logic and critical thinking.

Lucky Cupcake Decisions
There are so many yummy cupcakes to eat for St. Patrick’s Day Can you choose the line up with the most points? Students follow the parameters given for each line up of cupcakes and use addition to find the line up with the most value. Reinforces addition and logic

Lucky Line-ups
A tricky leprechaun has stolen some cupcakes and left numbers behind. Students use the equations to determine the value of each cupcake.

Pots Of Gold
You are looking for the biggest pot of gold. There are three pots in a clouds. Can you find the largest one using the clues? Students use logic and reasoning to find the biggest pot of gold. Reinforces logic and reasoning.

Magic Pots Of Gold
Inside a gold pot is a magic 8 square for students to fill in using number 1-9. The first number in the puzzle is given. The goal is to place the numbers so that each row and column add to 15. Answers may vary. An answer key is given.

Leprechaun Loot
The children are almost ready for their St. Patrick’s Day dinner. All they need is chocolate coins, but leprechauns stole them and are all hiding. Each leprechaun can hide in three places: the pond, bridge and forest. Only one leprechaun can hide in each place. Can you figure out where each of the leprechauns are hiding? Students use logic and critical thinking to figure out this puzzle.
