Tricky Turkey Math Mystery Packet
This Thanksgiving themed packet contains six math and logic activities that challenge early finishers during the fall.

Find The Tricky Turkey
A turkey is hiding behind a pumpkin number. Students use the three math clues to find which number the turkey is hiding behind. Reinforces odd and even numbers, simple addition and logic.

Travelling Turkey
A turkey is making its way home. Can you help it fly to the correct squares? Students use column and row values to build path to the house. The columns have an assigned value, and the rows have a total. Students will add the columns to equal the assigned value of the row. They will glue a turkey onto the correct boxes (see example page). Reinforces addition.

Cranberry Chromatics
Everyone wants the cranberry sauce during the Thanksgiving feast. Can you figure out the least number of colors for each table arrangement? What is the fastest way to pass the cranberry sauce? Students are introduced to chromatic graphing using the turkeys at the vertices. A chromatic number is the smallest number of colors needed to color the vertices of a shape so that no two adjacent vertices share a color. Reinforces logic and critical thinking while they use geometry concepts.

Dessert Table Decisions
There are so many yummy desserts to eat on the Thanksgiving table. Can you choose the line up with the most points? Students follow the parameters given for each line up of pies and use addition to find the line up with the most value. Reinforces addition and logic

Pumpkin Pie Numbers
You are looking for the biggest pumpkin to make a pie. There are three pumpkins in a field. Can you find the largest one using the clues? Students use logic and reasoning to find the biggest pumpkin. Reinforces logic and reasoning.

Turkey Trouble
The pilgrims are almost ready for their Thanksgiving feast. All they need is a turkey, but they are all hiding. Each turkey can hide in three places: the hay pile, barn and forest. Only one turkey can hide in each place. Can you figure out where each of the turkeys are hiding? Students use logic and critical thinking to figure out this puzzle.
