This product includes the Early History of Michigan Interactive Notebook which is aligned to the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE's) for grade 3. I use these templates to help guide my social studies instruction. It is a way for students to take notes about the topics we are learning about.
This interactive notebook file contains:
-19 pages of notebook templates; including two independent practice activities
-Each of the interactive notebook templates comes with an "I can" statement aligned the Michigan Grade 3 GLCE's. The "I can" statements come three to a page.
-25 pages of pictures showing how to set-up each template with information students would include on each page
The reading comprehension passages are also aligned to the Grade 3 Michigan GLCE's. Each reading passage comes with five or more comprehension questions. There is space on each page for students to write their answers directly on the page. I use these passages for independent practice after I have taught my whole group social studies lesson.
Topics covered by these passages include:
-Primary and Secondary Sources
-Native American Tribes in Michigan
-Early Settlers and Native Americans
-The French and the Fur Trade
-Michigan Becomes a State
-New Routes to Michigan
