→ Word Lock - Students will read each slide. On the last slide, they need to click HERE. Then type the letters for each word inside the provided boxes. Use the color boxes to unscramble the word (Google Slides).
→ Color Lock - Students will complete the logic puzzle. Then type the correct name and color in each box (Google Sheet). **If students are not familiar with logic puzzles, I have provided one so that you may model how to complete one.** This is a challenging clue, additional assistance may be needed!
→ Direction Lock - Students will drag and drop each fact and opinion into the correct column, then sort them least to greatest (Google Slides).
→ Number Lock - Students will watch the video, then answer the questions. Students will then check the feedback to receive their clues. Students will solve each word problem (Google Form).
FAQ:
1. Should I use present mode? No, students need access to the entire slide deck.
2. Where do I find the clues? Students should click on the "Click HERE for the clue," then click on the long BLUE URL. Some clues "force" students to make a copy. This allows them to manipulate the resource. Once the clue is solved, students will need to return to the original slide deck. (Be assured that students catch on quickly)
3. Where do students click "submit?" In order for students to "breakout", they must click on "Click HERE or Click HERE to unlock the lock," then click on the BLUE URL. They will receive either a green check (good to go) or a red x (close the window and try again).

My students really enjoy using Google Slides to "breakout!" It provides the scaffolding many need to be successful with such tasks as critical thinking, communicating, collaborating, and problem-solving!
