Description
This Earth Day unit is packed with activities to get your students excited about this special day. The packet includes the following:
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Anchor Charts
Recycling: Sort It Out!- Students sort paper, plastic, metal and glass items, record their answers, graph the data and answer questions about the data.
Trash Pick Up: Cause and Effect: Students get their own cause or effect card. They use the student page to demonstrate their knowledge of what the cause/effect could be. There are 12 cards in all.
Earth Day-ABC order: Students use picture cards and practice putting the words in ABC order. Then they write a story with the words.
Earth Day Facts and Opinions: Students read the statements about Earth Day on each of the cards. Then they decide if the statement is a Fact or Opinion and record their answers.
Earth Day Parts of Speech: Students choose a card and decide if the word is a noun, verb or adjective. Then they record their answers and use the word in a sentence. Parts of speech anchor charts are also included to guide student learning.
Earth Day Craftivity and Writing Prompts: Students make a recycling can and choose an Earth Day Common Core writing prompt (included) to demonstrate their learning. Acrostic poetry pages have also been included for student use.
